Acoustic Routes Sing-around at the Johnsonville Club, 1 Norman Lane, off Johnsonville Road, Wellington 7pm on Monday 11 May. Sing-arounds will be held on the second Monday of the month in the evening in 2026 starting at 7pm.
Acoustic Routes Social Club, at the Johnsonville Club, 1 Norman Lane, off Johnsonville Road (opp NZ Post), Johnsonville, 1.30pm, Wednesday 20 May – featuring the dulcet tones of Peter Berry! Please note Social Club meetings are being held on the third Wednesday of the month in 2026. Our invited guest performs for the first half hour or so, and then we’ll go round the circle and anyone who wishes to perform can do so.
Peter has a wide range of music and musical styles, from opera to bawdy ballads, but on this occasion, as it’s NZ Music Month, we’ve asked him to share some of his favourite New Zealand songs. They’ll likely include the likes of Dave Jordan and Peter Cape, and maybe some old tramping songs that we used to sing in the back of the tramping club truck as we headed out to the ranges. Good for singing along with!

Our Social Club guest in April 2026 is Kevin Mayes. You may have seen/heard Kevin singing at various trad singing events and sessions around the motu – he’s even been on the iconic Country Calendar, appearing in June 2018 as ‘the singing orchard manager’ at Peckham’s Cider! Very fitting for someone who grew up in Sussex, where he was introduced to Bob Copper’s Central Club by his mother.
