Acoustic Routes Concert – VicFolk and the Flukes, Thursday 26 November

Roseneath School Hall, Maida Vale Road,  Thursday 26 November

Admission $15.00 non-members/$10.00 members (cash only; no eftpos facilities).

This vibrant club has been running at Victoria University of Wellington since 2017, offering opportunities to learn about and get involved with Celtic folk music. If you’re of a musical inclination, they teach tunes from the ground up, serving as a gateway into the weekly Wellington Irish Session and VicFolk’s very own ceilidh band. For those who just want to dance they hold regular dance workshops and public ceilidhs – pandemic permitting!

Fresh from performing at the Wellington Folk Festival, VicFolk will bring a taste of what they do to the Roseneath School Hall on November 26th. The concert will include a selection of their favourite toe-tapping tunes, interspersed with songs from a broad range of folk traditions.

 The Flukes

Hot on the heels of their success at WellyFest, AR is proud to present this fun group who ‘ukefy’ old favourites for their enjoyment and yours.

The concert will also feature a guest spot from Stephen  Riddell, this year’s winner of the JAPan Trophy for most improved performer.
