Three great musicians join together in this exciting trio featuring Andrea Reid (dulcimer, whistles, vocals), Nick Burfield (guitar and vocals), and Derek Burfield (double bass). Their music draws on many influences but remains firmly rooted in Americana, and they are in the process of recording their first album.
Butter wouldn’t Melt will melt your heart with soulful stories, soaring harmonies, far-away fables and not-so-sappy love songs.
Head Full of Bees
Head Full of Bees comprises Henry Burton-Woods, Jay Kenyon, and S R Harnden. The three came together for the Wellington Folk Festival of 2020, performing a combination of Celtic instrumentals and sea shanties on The Balladeer stage. Henry (bouzouki/voice) won the Joan Prior award at the Wellington Folk Festival in 2019, is an avid multi-instrumentalist, and currently studying classical violin at the New Zealand School of Music. Jay (cello/voice) has sung in several choirs over the years, also plays the bass guitar in a Wellington-based rock band, and thoroughly enjoys folk music and the community it brings with it. Simon (voice) learnt sea shanties with his crew in the London Sea Shanty Collective and enjoys an enthusiastic singaround. Hoist the sails, tap your feet, and join in with all the choruses.
